Black Stork Nest 2017

The feathers are like our nails and I think also the hair. The water makes them grow faster.

nest is small for them

And it will be smaller when they star training to fly

I just found out that the young storks were ringed this morning!


Yesterday evening they didn't had rings. They are in the "ugly" phase: not black and not white

They are showing off their new rings, but would probably prefer an umbrella today.

Yeah I had check them a couple of hours ago

i was out without umbrella.....you can imagene which kind i'm looking now (only i don't like wear any ring):p

Anyway the rings would not protect you from the rain

We seem to be missing someone.  

Oops... yesterday they were three. One of them did a lot of training but didn't seem able to fly

It's funny. The other 2 seem to ignore the one that arrived. They don't care to know how life is outside the nest?

ehee, really these two don't seem's feel comfortable ...

Well, all the young black storks fly already. But every time I look at the nest they are all there

we have awfully weater now ....rain, rain,rain...everyone not want to go out from home

Ok. That's a good excuse

But they have sunshine

nest is empty...

Now waiting for the autumn/winter cams...

He has been hanging around the northern part of eastern Romania for the last week taking a break from traveling.  Raivo is well ahead of the rest of the Estonian birds -- he is in southern Turkey already.

And they are going to southern Africa! That's amazing what this birds do

No... it was too soon. Only other storks that don't come to Europe

Karll has finally moved on from his extended stay in Romania and is now in Northern Turkey.

It has also been posted in LK that all three storklets were female.
