Four eggs....It was snowing yet before with some days!

The weather is crazy - it was snowing here all Friday and today we have had sunshone and +17C (in the sun it was +26...).
All animals seem to wake up - and love is in the air

Is that an empty eggshell off to the left?????



Nope, false alarm. Although there seems to be chirping noises heard when she gets up off the eggs.

Time is soon up for the first egg..... At least two of them have holes already!! And yes, they are very loud

The first storklet is almost out of the egg!

Earlier, the poor parent was doing a lot of panting; and it sounds like the flies are being quite annoying.

Yesterday was the first really hot day at least here in Southern Finland. In the afternoon we had +25C. So I bet the stork parent was really hot in the black suit.....

This morning still only 3 storklets and one intact egg....

It would be for the best if the egg did not hatch -- poor little thing would not stand a chance against those three fast-growing chicks. I am amazed each morning at how much they have grown overnight!

I looked at the pontu pics and the last egg is still intact....

I think the last egg really will not hatch.... but that is ok, isn't it?
The parents will be busy enough trying to feed three storklets.

In a couple of hours I'll be on my way to Polle again, without rain and thunder today I think.

Both the stork-mama and our bluetit-mama have done the same thing with the egg that did not hatch

It appears that they are now old enough to sleep together without mom on top of them. (She is sleeping on the branch to the left--too dark to see now.)

I saw this too and I wonder if there is any possibility to get the young bird back with its siblings??? Or will it become a friend to the very lonely BS at Tallinn Zoo????
