Re: Black Stork Nest Cam 2012
I guess we will know soon..... Either the black spot is moss or dirt and will probably fall off - or there is a hole in the egg....
Soon there will be egg nr 2. Maybe it is already there????
What do you think?

Re: Black Stork Nest Cam 2012
In LK there are many pics about the spot on the egg and
of a thing that lies in the nest, like a branch, a chain or whatever..
(a rosary I thougt but dare not say that.. ; ).
Would be a shame if there really is a hole in the first egg..like once in
the Spain or Portugal nest...??
Wait and see...more we cannot do!
A pic Olga has made, with spot and kind of chain...

That "chain" looks a lot like Equisetum arvense (or close relative). Before the leaves begin to grow they look very much like that.

Re: Black Stork Nest Cam 2012
Possible, but I've never seen one having such a regurlar pieces so close together and not with such an elegant curve..the plants are rather stiff.
I can't believe it is a plant. It also looks like a worm or ... metallic
thing lost when ringing the birds or brought by into the nest by a bird,
like crows and magpies sometimes carry away shining things....

Sadly we got even more snow last night
But seems that this time the snow did not hit Estonia.
The morning started off nicely in the BS nest
