Yes, they eat almost anything - small mammals and birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, insect, snails, carcasses, berries, corn, acorns...
The number of cubs is quite high, too. Something around 8 per female per year.
Hunting them is quite difficult as the only proper way is trapping them. Shooting them can be quite difficult as they are rather nocturnal animals.
Of course mange does reduce the number of Raccoon Dogs in those areas where are really many of them. But on the edge of the distribution area there are fewer Raccoon Dogs so the disease cannot spread - but the Raccoon Dogs themselves can.

The reason for the decrease in the past year is mange in the north-eastern part of Germany (that´s where extremely many Raccoon Dogs are/were). Within a few years the population will have recovered...

I´m quite sure that the Swedes won´t succeed in killing the Raccoon Dogs off. Since the Raccoon Dogs were introduced in the Ukraine in the past century they have occupied half of Europe and any human effort to stop them has been unsuccessful. It´s an amazingly successful species!!
