Might there be a 6th egg in the morning you could make a shield:

OH yes, the 6th egg is here!! 9.22 today
She can still lay another 3 or 4 eggs, average is 6-7, so we have to wait and see

I am confident that nature knows how many eggs can be layed and it seems to me that our FC mama is wife #1 - she will have help feeding the kids!

I wonder if mama FC is about to start incubating - she is so eager in the nest right now, and it is rather late for her to be there... Will she stay the night?? If anyone is up and has a look at the cam - please leave a not if you see her there....

Awwww - I woke up and I had to come and take a look! Poor girl, this is probably all new to her. She might lay a 7th egg but I think this is it. 2 weeks from tonight - and we should have "FC-lets".
Good luck little mama

Yes, she appears to be staying the night! She sleeps a little, and then fusses a lot over the eggs; shaking her "shoulders" trying to get comfortable on them. She is trying her best.

I would say: because of the eggs under her...
How an inside egg feels she knows..but sitting on so many eggs is new and has to be practized to find the best way...

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
The inside egg is in the "wrong place".... for incubating. She needed her tummy for the other eggs and then there was one on th einside in the way
I sure hope that she feels more comfortable the coming night - it was hard to see her struggle...

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
I am a bit worried....FC-mom is incubating the eggs during the night.... Yesterday she came and went, came and went.... Today she left around 6 am, and now she has not been back (it is 7.20). And... I have not seen the male . Does he have another more important wife?? I hope mom is not giving up on the eggs.......
