This morning you might have heard geese and swan sounds here!! It is very foggy outside but I think I can see some geese in the field (on the snow, poor creatures...)

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
I don't use youtube for these.... Ustream has its own recording system. The videos appear on the same page as the cam, just under it. Last one will be first.AllyKass wrote:youtube probems?caysa wrote:I think I got it on video - look belowAllyKass wrote:there is not that black thing anymore, there it dissapered?????????
Here is the link to it too: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/13787783

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
Juha added wood shavings into the birdhouse. We got this advice from the guy who makes these cam boxes. It will keep the nest airy as the shavings will not close the gaps in the bottom 100%. (yes - there is an idea with the tiny gaps...)

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
Not yet, I asked Juha to put in the shavings only after it was dark. Now it is raining (again...) and the only birds around seems to be the woodpeckers, eating outside the window.AllyKass wrote:have you saw any bird in nest after wood shavings puting?
Will be interesting to see what the bluetit does - will it start throwing out all the chips?? Or will it like how comfortable it is?? - Dry and nice and warm??

I don't know - but not many are around.. maybe it is just a bit too dark still as there is no sun. Now, at least, some small bird sounds can be heard...

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
A Parus palustris/montanus (I can't tell them apart ) came to the feeder, during the winter they never came to this feeder.
Now the squirrel is alone at the other feeder
It looks funny when it is slowly getting its summer color, now only the hed and paws are red!

VIDEO: Bluetit checked the shavings
And it seemed to me that it liked it
In the beginning ov the video you can see another bluetit in the "door" - is this the partner???

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
I have some problems with the live broadcast
Seems that the picture sometimes just stops.
When the bluetit came to check the birdhouse, I heard it but did not see anything in the cam. I had to restart the cam to get the pic too.
It MIGHT because I do other things on the puter too... too many cams and stuff.... sigh - always something.

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
They will bring own material too, this is just the beginning, so to say.
Two bluetits are flying around the birch now, sometimes sitting on the branches. They are not fighting, so I hope it is a couple !!
This guy who builds these boxes has had his own for many years - he knows what to do, I think.

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
I will soon feed the hens and after that I will go to do some shopping and also I will visit Anna's house. Before I go I will close everything else on my puter and just restart the cam. Then we can see if it still works when I come home.AllyKass wrote:you maystop the live broadcast for while now,we have seen blue tit checking and this was good to see, maybe they com in the evenings back..caysa wrote:I have some problems with the live broadcast

I don't have to do puppy pages - Anna has her own website Kennel Highhut's , there you can see pics of the other animals too.

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
They have 4 dogs, Lyra, Vega, Lansu and Siru...
At home they now have 2 Finnhorses, Poju and Taika and the pregnant Shetland pony, Tilly. Anna also owns a young Finnhorse stallion, Aatu, together with a friend, but it is now in the friend's stable.
2 Finnsheep yes and 2 cats.
They take care of the animals themselves and with our help. They cannot go away for a weekend if we don't take care of the animals.
Well, same goes for us - if we want to go somewhere then we need their help.
