I did not even remember that it has been April 1st !!!
As this day also is Palm Sunday has been more important.

"On the days leading up to Palm Sunday, children all over Finland, begin to prepare for the day by collecting willow twigs full of willow catkins, which are then decorated with colorful strips of crepe paper and feathers. On Palm Sunday the children then dress up as witches and wizards, and if you should hear your doorbell ringing, behind the door you will find little witches and wizards with there baskets, pots and willow twigs, ready to tell you their magic verse; "Virvoin, varvoin, tuoreeks, terveeks, tulevaks vuodeks, vitsa sulle, palkka mulle". With this magic verse they wish you and your household good health and a good year. They will then hand you a willow twig, and as a little reward, they expect you to put a few sweets, little Easter Eggs or a few coins in their basket or pot.

In olden times the reason for using the magic verse was to chase away demons and the rhyme varied from area to area. In the countryside children could say; " ...and if you don't promise me eggs, hawks shall take your chickens". In those days children got real eggs for Easter and they did not receive them until Easter Sunday. "

So we have had our own little grandchildren and also some other kids from our village visiting - many small easter eggs and other candy have found their way into little baskets

and all get joy! nice!

i worked one month in harbour now and...found this kind strange sign combination there. i still not understand that they mean....yes..it is danger to fall to water...but..if you are fallen...you cannot swim out???

could you imagine, that you are on your capital city, in center of the town and...you have private tram? (as happend yesterday evening with me)

near the presidents shloss in kadriorg..are this sign....what may it mean....squirrel danger or squirrels are forbbidden?

Juha and I once walked in Kopli (part of Tallinn) when we saw a museum tram coming along. There was only the driver in it - he was moving the tram to Trammipark (Tram halls) on quite the other side of Tallinn. The tram was beautiful and we waved to the driver. He stopped and asked if we wanted to come along for the drive. Well of course!!! So..... Just we and the driver It was fun!!
