Not this time, but it happens every now and then.
If you want to see it you must get up very early and hide somewhere where you have a good view (not so easy....). You have to be there BEFORE the birds show up. Then you might get to watch it

I would like to do it, but the place where these birds are is just impossible. The only place to hide would be a ditch full of water

2nd possibilty is to build a blind

I´ve seen Black Grouse only twice. Once a male flew away because I had approached too much (I had not noticed the bird because it had been hiding).
The 2nd Black Grouse I saw was a male sitting on a tree top quite far away. It was towards the end of their mating season in 2008 so the bird actually was just showing itself but not dancing or "singing" at all.

Well..... we cant build anything in that field, it will soon be ploughed
And the guy who owns it is a bit... hmm... odd !!
He would never understand if we asked if it is ok to place a camo tent or similar there. You have to put it up before the birds start gathering so that they get used to it.
I know one place - very close to where Anna and Timo live, where you can see the birds almost every morning during winter and spring. They sit in young bearches and eat the leaf buds. Next time we pass there I must try to be ready with the camera and have the car window down. You cannot STOP the car - you have to drive slowly and not make any noise, not even the noise of the window going down or opening the camera. They leave instantly....
This is how it looks (not my picture)

Re: Black Grouse Webcam lovers
i have seen a male black grouse once. i saw him accidentally. he was 2 or 3 meters away sunbathing in high grass next to a big stone. me and my friend just walking there and suddenly we heard a loud sound next to us.. grouse was takeing off. i had my cam on my hand (we went to the woods to "shoot") but i was just so stunned that i didnt eaven think about the photo. some seconds later it was too late and i realized how terribly stupid i am
