Here it has been raining since Saturday afternoon. But as the temperatures still are around 15°C it made the plants grow very quickly. It´s that kind of warm spring rain...

Re: Black Grouse Webcam lovers
Good morning, yes it looks like a wolf, but not too far from the cam
must be a farm, sometimes you can hear a cock crow..and:
a bigger dog barking... But yesterdayevening I heard an animal bark
only 1 time, like it was angry and someone disturbed him..could be
fox, dog or wolf... About 45 minutes later it happend once again.
A german shepherddog has almost the same silhouette like a wolf I suppose.. But I really would be happy to know
that there is a wolf...Who knows where the cam is exactly and if there are wolves in that area?

Re: Black Grouse Webcam lovers
The German Shepherds of today do usually have a much more sloping back (sadly......)
So I believe it is a wolf! It has a much healthier structure and looks able to run, which you cannot say about the GS....
I have not seen anything that wuold indicate where the cam is situated, but as the grouse like the area and the cranes land there, it cannot be a bad place for a wolf either!
Edit: I enlarged the picture and added a bit more light to see if we can get the color of this "creature" to show....
It sure looks wolf colored!! (I so want it to be a wolf )

Re: Black Grouse Webcam lovers
So do I! And the sound like a short barking, only short and 1 time , fits perfectly to a wolf. I have read a lot about wolves tomorrow and, yes, I believe also it is a wolf. Then it must have been there yesterday evening around midnight and before also! A shame that we cannot see the cam at the moment. Sound was very, very, low after midnight. Solar? Let's hope they can repair it very soon!

Yes, it all sounds a bit odd to me.... why did they put in so much effort to get the connection up and still they did not know that this field is going to be used by the farmer??

Re: Black Grouse Webcam lovers
So sorry that the Black Grouse Cam had to stop..I tried to find an address to ask for a video where we could see the wolf visiting the cam. I wrote an e-mail then and without blaming somebody I asked if it would be possible to show us a video of the wolf that visited the Black Grouse cam.
I must say I was happily astonished to get an honest (I believe) answer. Even a second email came with a link to some video's.
I hope we will enjoy the video's and I will send a big: "Thank You"
to "Sender"...
The cam showed us some birds and the wolf and even during the short time it worked we could learn a lot about these animals!

Re: Black Grouse Webcam lovers
This morning around 7.30 when I left home I saw these two Black grouse males in the field only about 1 km from our house.
Of course I had only my mobile phone.....
This field is their special palce and sometimes there can be really many of them there.
It is very hard to take pics tho, they are so suspicious.....

Re: Black Grouse Webcam lovers
I hope to see them soon, too.
One of their courting places in the hunting area is not that far from the lodge. The only problem is that I do not know EXACTLY where it is. So maybe I will have to try and spot them from the opposite slope at first...
