Actually I was surprised - it was + 12C in the coop - we added some more straw and woodchips on the floor yesterday - the floor is the least insulated part. But I am always afraid that we get a power cut durng really cold weather... Then I would have to bring the chickens into the sauna or something....

few years ago, then was really cold too and i visited my parents and asked,is it possible to get sauna and then mom answered that no,there are our chickens now

Hehe, yes, sauna is good for so many things.
We have our sauna indoors but it is wood heated, so in case of a powercut it can always be kepts warm.
It has under floor heating (when electricity is on LOL) and I often hand bigger washings, like blankets and rugs there to dry.
And in the old days kids were born in the sauna and when someone died, that is where the body was washed and kept.....
Sauna sure sees all the aspects of life....

yes,sauna is same importand place for estonians too
i have been in suitsusauna (smokesauna-there are not chimney and all smoke let out the door before people goes in) even...uh...after that i smelled like smoked chicken

Yes, they are horrible - nowadays smoke saunas are more like an attraction and rich people build them becaus ethey think it is cool haha. Then they don't know how to heat them in the right way, and POOF they burn them down. Every year many smoke saunas are destroyed

everyday use they are yes, so horrible, but the once time experience was very good...lots of emotions (like,you all time must watch that not contact against the walls and get soot)
