Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
Cool! I was there this morning and thought that there wasn't much hay left. So maybe we can see their antlers grow
Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
At this hour we can see very well the site. There is a water line between the forest and the carrots, maybe it has water? It would be interesting to see the animals coming to drink when they don't need to come for food

The 2 "cows" came early. Maybe they are getting more confident with the growing of the antlers?
Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
I don't think that there is a reason for the cam not to continue. The cam is from the land owners or from the hunter association, and not, as the others, from Lk so if there is not a problem it will go on. What can happen is that during summer they stop giving food.

The red deer are suspicious with so much food
They don't dare to get out of the woods

Yes, you are right. They seem very suspicious.
It seems that the younger ones are not going to loose their antlers. And one of the olders is growing its antlers very fast

Yes, it is really interesting to see the new antlers grow so quickly. Although we have many deer that pass through our yard, they are mostly does with a few of the youngest bucks. Only the rubbed off bark of our poor trees get to see the older bucks' antlers up close during the night!

In Portugal it's very difficult to see the males without their antlers. They hide much more

Hello Bisky,
Yes, that is correct, the last carrots were eaten on Fridaymorning I guess.
Maybe somebody finds still more carrots and brings
them, but plants etc. may be growing already I
think and almost ready for eating. But such big
animals with growing antlers do need lots of good
food...
Have a nice evening!
