Re: Hi everyone!
I am so happy that you have been so active here!!
My daylast week were really so busy and even today i feel ½ dead.
But the babtism went fine!
Except :x .....
The battery in my camera went POOF. So now I have to wait to get pictures from other people. But at least I got this picture, cousins Saga and Elis, waiting for the ceremony to start.

Mr. Oph...lol, for lack of a first name... You can find the extra smilies in the add reply area by just clicking on the View more Emoticons above the smiley choices, and then click on more smilies. Then they will appear.

Re: Hi everyone!
Hello everybody!
I´m back from Slovenia/Italy.
It has been a hot and day down there and a trip with great observations but nearly no photos of them.
In total there were 5 Vipera ammodytes, 1 Lacerta viridis, quite a lot of Podarcis muralis and some Algyroides nigropunctatus.
Espicially the many V. ammodytes were special because I had seen only one of them before. And now there were 5 on one day. :D But all of them were directly in front of there holes and escaped when they heard/saw me. It was impossible to catch photos that way and I wasn´t prepared for catching venemous snakes so I had to let them go. But I´ll return soon and then with better instruments.
The L. viridis was also hiding in his hole and didn´t dare to come out. Also the A. nigropuctatus were very shy. The only species I could take proper photos from was P. muralis.
Probably because of the heat they were very active and fast so that it was totally impossible to take photos without catching them. But if they are so fast it´s difficult to catch them... (the best way to catch lizards is with a small springe made of twine. And good luck if the lizards are running and there´s also a wind... )
Okay, enough for now (quite long already ).

That was cool!! You are a very travelling man!
Now..... when you have time.... make a list of those amphibians with pictures - I know far too little about them but am interested in knowing more. It would be nice to have a picture list to look at when you call the "fancy names"
I have today, in the field in front of our house, seen 2 swans, 2 canadian geese and the first flock of cranes! :D

Please help somebody!
1. What is the nuthatch latin name?
2. What is the big ....?
There are 2 meanings of "tit". One is e.g Great Tit: http://images.google.de/images?sourceid=navclient&hl=de&rlz=1T4SKPB_deDE221DE222&q=great%20tit&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi the other is what you thought.
Nuthatch is this one: http://images.google.de/images?hl=de&rlz=1T4SKPB_deDE221DE222&um=1&sa=1&q=nuthatch&aq=f&oq=

Yes. I´ll put some links now since I have no photos (or I had to upload older ones now).
V. ammodytes: http://www.herp.it/indexjs.htm?SpeciesPages/ViperAmmod.htm
L. viridis: http://www.herp.it/indexjs.htm?SpeciesPages/LacerVirid.htm
A. nigropunctatus: http://www.herp.it/indexjs.htm?SpeciesPages/AlgyrNigro.htm
P. muralis: http://www.herp.it/indexjs.htm?SpeciesPages/PodarMural.htm (only the brown ones occur in that area)
Please tell me if the links work with your computer, it´s the first time they work with mine with that website.
Another possibility is Google...
