The eaglets had no idea it was FOOD - they just looked at it
Poor cygnet - it will never find mama again - more probably someone else will eat it.....

Why do the eaglets sound like this??? Sounds really odd to me, because I can't remember hearing that last year... or????

First I thought they are calling the parents... but then I noticed that Linda is sitting on the branch behind the nest.
The other eaglet is hidden behind this one.

It is a strange sound. It was not as loud several hours ago; then, it almost sounded like she was humming to herself. But some form of noise has been going on for a long time. I think that it is the female, and I have not noticed any food delivery for a while. I just assumed that she is hungry and wants mom to get off that branch and fetch her something.

I have watch the cam more - maybe we get an explanation!

After I posted, I checked over at LK to see if they knew what was going on. There are several more videos that were posted throughout the day so you can see how long she has been at it. But, they don't seem to know any more than we do.

Hmmm ok..... so it is not something that has been heard before then??

The crying-like sound goes on and on.... I can't say who of them is doing it... They have food there too, and Linda is present, as she seems to be a lot these days - sitting on a nearby branch...

Still a mystery. I cannot tell either which one is making the sound. Maybe they are just bored being in the nest and are anxious to get started flying!

It must be very hard for them there in the nest when it is hot. Their only source for fluids is the food - if the parents can find something to bring....
I do hope that the eaglets can leave the nest soon as this hot weather seems to go on and on and on.... With some thunder in between. The rain that follows will help for a while.... but then???

EDIT: there is another eagle too , behind the big branches in the middle That's an adult, I can see white tail feathers.....

I wonder when they will get the cam up this year, I am sure that Linda and Sulev are working hard on building the nest now.....

Let's hope it happens soon - I know that people work as volunteers and that weather conditions matter a lot too - but I would not like to miss seeing the eggs been layed.... And I think it would not be a good thing to climb in the trees if the eagles are laying on eggs........
