White-tailed Eagle Camera Lovers

Good morning everybody!

A couple of days ago I asked Jo on LK WTE if she has an idea
why people from all over the world are watching the LK lifecams...
What do we here on LLL think about that? Might be interesting to tell some of the thoughts we have when we are looking at the
different animals in LK...

For me it is the wonder of nature that makes me want to know more! The more we know, the more we understand about ourselves too. And we get a better understanding of why we need to protect wildlife and nature. Everything is connected. If we destroy the habitats of rhodents and frogs, if we pollute the waters and there is no more fish around.... what will the LSE:s and the WTE:s do??? They cannot nest where there is no food available...
And... are we not part of the nature too??!! I want to be related to it as much as possible and for me the cameras AND our forum here, are a very nice way to do it. To share experiences in small and big, that makes me happy!

I fully agree with you, Caysa!! Though, I have to add that to me the webcams mainly are a way to have some kind of contact to nature while working. If I really want to experience the wonders of nature I prefer to go outside and see everything in reality.
But - of course - you would hardly ever get the view on a nest of BS, LSW, WTE, Tawny Owl or whatever...

The reason why people from all over the world watch LK cams probably is the good quality of the cams. You have big and clear images. Many other webcams have rather small or blurry images.
Additionally LK covers a great part of Europe´s nature. Often there is just one webcams. LK has a several webcams all year.

Also LK somehow is conncected to Hancock Wildlife forum (I think that even is where LK started) so a great part of the people that watch wildlife webcams find LK...

Of course going out and see everything yourself is very special. But this is often not possible, especially not the sort of nature we have in both Estonia and Finland. We are lucky to still have wast areas with hardly no disturbance.
And the learning factor is a great thing! Just think how much we learn from each other here - by watching the cams and talking about what we see. I must admit that I look at many things out there differently after learning more here by the computer.

I remember the winter when I sat for almost 3 months in a wheelchair, that was the same winter when I joined LK and met all of you. It was a blessing to be connected to the nature even if I could not get anywhere from inside this house!! And I am sure that I am not the only one beeing happy about that!

Mother Nature teaching to us about balance of power. and cams let us see some secrets, that for people usually hard to see

Wild boars somewhere very close to the cam

A lovely calm summer evening in the nest. Linda is watching over her kids, they are fed and content. They got up just to "go to the toilet" - they are doing that quite well already
At least there seems to be enough fish for the eagles!

first i looked,that eagle just watching their eaglets dream


but then i saw,that in the nest is BIG fish and linda's and sulev's eaglets get today good meal!

I saw them eating on their own yesterday!! Linda just picked on the fish and then the kids started to eat!!!

i looked it too, that she was very interested to watch,will eaglet by self pick the food and seems that she not start help it....good the teacher mother!!

Yes, Linda knows how to do it!!

i did not knew that this cam can see in night, too

i looked today eagle cam and saw first time,that eaglets have rings...

then i made search in LK...one,second,third ect page,found nothing (only saw,that they have rings),but then i looked LK main page and found video from 28.05,there renno ringing eaglets and urmas is on the next tree and make photos.renno said there that bigger is female and smaller is male eaglet...and they joked there,that this time he took urmas together,that urmas can remember to him,that he not miss his notebook on the nest, like last year

That is so sweet!!! Linda and Sulev are such good parents, they know exactly what to do!

as i read on lkour eaglets have names, timmu is in right side (smaller and male) and teele is on left side (bigger and female)

Hmmmmm I was looking at that behavior yesterday!!!! It seems odd... She has been in the rain many times before too and never shaked her head
