Ricky wrote:I called the PC doctor today and he promised to come soon. An hour later he was there, said there was nothing wrong although there was written "Windows cannot be started due to recent changes in hardware or software". He just a pressed a few keys (and the text on the screen actually recommanded not to do exactly this) and Windows started and the computer is working again.
Don´t trust in what the computer says...
But it really is so scary when you get the "blue screen" and all those warnings

Re: Ricky´s hut
From tomorrow (Monday) until Friday (or maybe Saturday) I won´t be at home. Some business things have to be done and inbetween I am planning to spend 1 or 2 days on hiking.
If possible I will also try to meet the guy who is in charge of our new (hopefully) HA...

Re: Ricky´s hut
Have a good and interesting journey and buy a map for hikers about the
Karwendelgebirge... that would be really interesting, you find all
the things you need and much more!
And Viel Glück in Business!
Suppose you get there from Brixlegg etc. From Lenggries there is a
more than beautiful road to Mittenwald. Only 46 km. And from
Mittenwald to Leutasch, not Scharnitz - road but the other, directly
to Leutasch. So beautiful and at both sides of he road hunting
possible!
In Weidach I once lived.
Leutasch..Seefeld, Zirlerberg down direction Innsbruck and you have
seen everything!!
Alles Gute!!

Yes, I will buy a map of the Karwendel area as soon as we have the HA for sure.
I will have to go to South Tyrol at first (business). This is also where I plan to hike. Then I have to go to Switzerland (business again - but if enough time is left on that day I will also pay a visit to the Ibexes in the National Park Stilfser Joch).
Then I have to drive through Austria to get the HA in Germany (I would probably go via Leutasch in this case)... Alternatively I might also drive home before this, and then go to see the HA together with my father as he is the one who has officially applied for it - but "of course" he will allow me to hunt there too, which makes it to be our HA (in that case I would go via Brixlegg and Achensee).
Depends on who has how much time

Thanks!!
Hiking/photographing and business was much better than expected but the HA was much worse than expected
I will post some details in the hunting topic as soon as possible. And also "some" pics in the nature topic.

From July 14th to July 25th I won´t be at home. I won´t even be in Austria, Germany or Italy but in a country that many people think to know how it is like but in fact most of them know very little about it.
Let´s see if anyone can guess…
If not I will give more hints

YES, indeed - believe it or not
First of all, don´t think Greenland to be a cold and icy place, with humans living in igloos (that is at least what most people think here ). Of course there is quite a lot of ice but the coastal climate is not much different from the Scandinavian or Austrian climate. After all it is called Greenland BECAUSE it is green (in summer).
And instead of igloos there are small modern cities and villages. Greenland´s capital (Nuuk) has almost 18000 inhabitants, which is 50% bigger than Lienz.
The main reason for this trip is that we are planning business issues over there that might even affect some private issues (most probably positively). I won´t go into detail (yet) as I hate talking about vague plans that are quite likely not to succeed.
As these matters are quite important for everybody in our small family enterprise both me and my parents will go. Of course everything could be done within a few days but once you are in Greenland it is good idea to stay for some more days and look around to see a bit of the country as well (and not only its capital). We will actually have to spend a few days in Iceland, too, as we didn´t get other flights.
It´s gonna be an interesting time as I have never been in Greenland before.

Re: Ricky´s hut
It is said to be a very pleasant place in summer. I would love to go there. It kind of "belongs to Scandinavia" as it is part of the Danish Kingdom (altho it is autonomous).
The long light nights (and mosquitos ) are very similar to Finland. Friendly people and good food, clean environment and fresh air... what more can anyone want?? Lucky you to be able to go!!!
If the business does not turn out the way you want.... at least you have been to a place not many people get to visit!!!
(I am already looking forward to pics )

Yes, you said that... but I did mean that you fly directly to Nuuk (from Reykjavik)?Ricky wrote: We fly via Iceland
Big airplanes have to land in Kangerlussuaq Airport, the only place big enough for jumbojets.
But I think they nowadays have planes small enough to make it to Nuuk but big enough to make the trip with over the sea with enough passengers to make it worthwhile.
I so envy you!! This is going to be such a cool trip!

Yes, we go directly to Nuuk without stopover in Kangerlussuaq.
