One last funny thing about them which I was quite happy about
Today - after shopping - they were REALLY interested in my hunting trophies and wanted to know almost all details. And in the end the client said to his daughter: "See, hunting and loving nature is no conflict at all..." How can one´s mind change completely within 24 hours?

Now they left which means I will be off to the hunting area again tomorrow around noon...

Oh, the daughter actually is not that "horrible" regarding shopping actually. All the family does not spend much money on "useless stuff", which is quite a rare thing but imho very good.

Tomorrow I might not be on at all (or at least only quite late) as I have to go to southern Germany because I have the feeling that my rifle´s riflescope is not adjusted properly. Some test shots will be done at a shooting range - in case that something is really wrong I can leave the rifle there to be repaired. If everything is okay I will try to get the opportunity for practising shooting.
Here we don´t have good shooting ranges...

So: Good luck to you tomorrow and let's hope it will not last long to
adjust your rifle! And do not drive too fast!

Here our hunting club arranges a check every summer - if you dont get your guns checked you cannot hunt.
Also every hunter's shooting is tested - which is very good!!

Things went quicker than expected...
I had expected the bullets hit about 5 - 10 cm too far to the left (at 100 m distance). But that was not the case - luckily.
Instead the bullets hit 2 cm too low (at 100 m) which is not too much but the longer the shots are the bigger the difference is of course... So good that it is
adjusted now!!

In Carinthia every hunter´s shooting is tested, too (in Tyrol it is not ) otherwise you don´t get the hunting license for Carinthia. But the shooting range they have in Mölltal valley is.... not very good. Luckily they are biulding a really good shooting range a few kilometers south of the HA now...

I only tried at 100 metres. That´s the usual distance that rifles are adjusted on. But it is enough to know where the projectile hits at 100m. Up to 200m it still hits at the aimed spot. At 250 it hits about 10cm lower and at 300m it hits about 30cm lower. On the other hand the there is less gravitation when you shoot steeply upwards or downwards (as it often happens in the mountains) which makes the projectile hit higher... That means - depending on the size of the target and the steepness of the shot - the maximum shooting distance may vary between 200 and 300m (in case of very good shooting conditions). If I am not absolutely sure if the shot will really hit where it should I do never shoot.

Lots of mathematics you cannot be dumb if you want to be a good hunter!
