Fox, eagle and raven in the sunshine

two eagles are waiting, then wealthy is eating

In LK eagle feeding grounds Doris made a movie from the fight between
a fox and an eagle. Page 90..Leonia had asked her to post this.
Really a brave and fast moving fox! And even a big black Dog visited the
place.

Then the fox heard an eagle very close to the cam - it decided to leave!




And sure enough - the eagle soon arrived to claim its breakfast!



I don't understand why VLC so often makes this "bad start" with the videos but VLC video is much easier to download to youtube than WMP....

I think so.... Foxes (or any animal) with mange are suffering a lot. The itch can be so severe that they can't even sleep. And when they are tired they don't feel strong enough to take on an eagle.
the mange foxes might not even be alive now if they did not have the easy food here at eagle cam... The winter has been very hard and cold... Hard to say what is best for them - die quicker without food or live longer with food but with horrible itch... sigh.... I wish there was some medication that could be put out with the food because mange is very treatable if you could catch the animal.....

On the other hand we should not forget that foxes are wild animals. The difference between wild animals and domestic animals is getting smaller if we treat wild animals like pets...
Ill animals actually mean that there are too many animals. Nature wants there to be fewer. It would not be wise to act against nature´s rules - even if it was advantageous for the single individual. Nature doesn´t really care about the single individual anyway... - nature can be very cruel in human eyes...
If foxes got medication their number would keep increasing (in case they were not hunted more intensively). More foxes needed more food which means that other species become rare(er)...
Nature is a fragile system - if you change one part too much it might result in a chaos...

Yes, very right - this is why it sometimes seems cruel to see that the foxes eat every day here on this cam - the individuals that nature would get rid of are still there and can do harm to the rest of the population. But of course - it is only a few animals and perhaps their condition can be educational. It is easy to understand that these sick ones would need to be eliminated.
Same goes for the furries on pigcam of course.

Yes, yesterday the feeding ground was almost empty....

I saw that too, I think it saw or heard another eagle....

New food has been brought and first visitors were ravens and a buzzard.
The ravens are more afraid of the buzzard than of eagles





The buzzard got one good piece of food and flew away
