I am sure that Mrd Deerfeeder knows
We must remember that the animals are perfectly capable of finding food themselves. The purpose of this feeding ground is only to get the animals to come in front of the cameras - it is not meant to supply all their food. You have to be very careful when feeding wild animals, so that they don't loose their capability to find food in the nature.

Re: Deer Trail Cam from Minnesota
We hardly have enough time to look at others as our "own" cams, but
I think we should honour this American foodbringer...a cold job also
there!
Look at the soles of his boots...he won't have cold feet or slip and fall
(I hope..)
work is done and he can go home...
The birds were waiting and hungry eating already when he was still there..

Re: Deer Trail Cam from Minnesota
What was he doing??? Had the water froze?? It is a heated pond....
And is he really kneeling down to put the food in exact order??
He seems so very committed to what he is doing - good man!!

Re: Deer Trail Cam from Minnesota
Good morning!
There seems to be a pump in the water, you sometimes can see the
water is moving around..he cleaned it from leaves etc. and he cutted
some apples or things like that for the roe deer and other animals.
At 12.20 am this animal was there, all alone and picking..what is it?
A goose or a chicken or what..his legs rather wide and a broad body...

ergee wrote:what happened to the fur of this deer, or did she forget to comb her hair?
I do think this is the case You sometimes see deer whose hair is in disorder in some smaller parts (like the deer in the pic). I guess the reason might be branches while the deer was resting...

Re: Deer Trail Cam from Minnesota
Yesterday I made some pics from this cam..the people have been working more than an hour here. A long time behind the cam and invisible, but then in front, cleaning the little pond and the food containers.
Sometimes during the still of the night you can see mice or maybe
other tiny animals coming out of the hole and taking food from the dish..but they are sooo fast..impossible to get a sharp picture.
Interesting that in so many continents people are feeding animals!
(whatever the motive may be )

Re: Deer Trail Cam from Minnesota
There is just a few centimeters of snow, I don't think that is the reason. But they like to gather in groups and easy food is a good thing, of course.

Beautiful sight anywaycaysa wrote:There is just a few centimeters of snow, I don't think that is the reason. The weather is not bad either - just a few degrees below freezing.
