But if the northern lights can be seen in America at midnight it is about 8 am in Europe So probably we Europeans cannot see them. Or did I get that wrong
It will not be a one moment happening, it can take hours and hours but it has to be dark and clear of course. I would suggest early tomorrow morning to try and see that. But I do doubt that it can be seen as far south as in Austria......
Here is a cool link, that shows how far this aurora can be seen: http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/pmap/pmapN.html

Re: ALLY'S DEN
I just looked at the weather forecast...
Both Finland and Estonia will have quite another type of lights during the evening and the night. Another big storm is coming with extreme wind gusts and thunder and lightning

Re: ALLY'S DEN
OMG we are certainly not going to see any auroras....
Now the news are saying that we, who live in south-west Finland should get food and water for a week
And pile up candles and have a battery radio ready (huh, we dont have battery radios....)
So..... if you don't see me tomorrow.... we probably have no electricity...
On eagle cam you can already hear thunder and it is windy.
Here at us it is completely calm, the calm before the storm?????

Re: ALLY'S DEN
We can enjoy a nice sunset and nobody told us to be afraid...
Stay calm and sleep well!
My father was born in 1900...and lived till 1930 in the province of
Drenthe in the Netherlands; he often told us how he sometimes could see the North Lights on clear evenings and nights...but that was long before the
sky got full with light coming from lanterns, fabrics and and and...
Today's sunset, 9.13 pm.
