Re: Boar cam Winter 2014-2015
That is terrible
It is further and further away, it seems no measures can stop it.
It's not good for hunting but also not good at all for people who create pigs

You still have pigs in Estonia?
The pigs flu is arriving everywhere… in France it entered through products. In Portugal all the producers of domestic pigs, in special of those who live free in the cork-oak forests are terrified.

Re: Boar cam Winter 2014-2015
today i saw tv news:
https://www.err.ee/950296/sigade-aafrika-katku-oht-pole-metsadest-kadunud-kuid-juhtumeid-on-vahem
The risk of African swine fever has not disappeared from Estonian forests, but the number of wild boar infected with plague has been several times lower than a few years ago.
This year's first cases of African swine fever in domestic pigs were found in Poland. As of May, there have been four outbreaks of domestic pigs, "Actual Camera."
According to the Veterinary and Food Board, 8-10 percent of all pigs tested had been infected with African swine fever some years ago, four to five times less this year.
For example, in Viljandi County hunting boars hunted by hunters were last seen in January, but in Pärnumaa at the beginning of June.
"After that, over 80 hunted wild boar blood has been studied and, fortunately, all of them have been clean," said Terje Oper, head of the Veterinary and Food Department of Viljandi County.
According to hunters, it is not true that the population of feral pigs is so small because of the plague that there is no more danger. In Viljandi County alone, 180 wild boars have been counted in the last two years, the number of animals hunted is even higher.
"This means that this time of active plague has changed the behavior of the wild boar population, that the increment is more than 100 percent, and it has left its mark," said Priit Vahtramäe, Chairman of the Board of the Viljandi County Hunters' Association.
In the last year, African swine fever arrived in the farmsteads of Viljandi County, when six farms were infected. HKScan's Round Farm was also closed, where all pigs were executed. In addition, the company had to invest heavily to meet the requirements for bio-fueling.
The territories of all the farms are fenced, all the cars that come to the farms pass through the desert. People have double dressing rooms. All the people who come to work, go through the sauna, go through the shower room, they have to change their clothes, no personal things can be brought to the farms, ”explained Kaupo Ojavee, HKScan Estonia's primary production director.
The Veterinary and Food Board controls the biosecurity of pig farms four times a year. And last but not least, the plague reached home pigs almost two years ago, can be seen as a joint work of Estonian pig farmers, hunters and the Veterinary Office.
"The forest has to behave completely normal and it is not necessary to clamp down on our acquaintances' farms," the officer Oper finally made a recommendation.

Probably. I don't knoww when it was but it can be a possibility. Or they are used to go there, as they like salt water and little organisms that are in the intertidal area, and weren't counting with so much people on the beach
