Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
Many of them came early
with lots of fights for food...
And after some pigs
All the red deer left except one of the oldest males
And finally only pigs
It's nice to hear the munch munch..

Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
Mr. Magnificent is there eating a lot!
Today it's not so noisy. Last nights I had to turn the sound off because they were fighting all the time and the nock nock of the antlers didn't stop
Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
There was a young male (with tiny antlers) in the feeding ground. First I thought it was Mr. Magnificent or one of the older males who had lost his antlers but then I saw the tiny (5 to 10 cm?) antlers...
It almost seems that the rut season is on! They fight, they call

I haven't seen the 2 older red deer in these last days. Maybe they're already "bald" and too ashamed to appear
Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
I wonder if Mr. M is still considered the big boss without his antlers. Would the youngsters still fear him?

I think so. I remember that at the begining he took time to approach the hay but the others gave him way...

BTW: not yesterday but the day before I saw at least one of the older males with the antlers "on"
