I guess not even you would have been capable to make a video.. Coming, growling and leaving
the place happened within about 3 minutes..and he/she was hardly visible...

Ricky, not only in your HA shots could be heard, in Alutaguse
area there are even machine-guns used to shoot...
But in our HA there´s no military training

A huge pig!! It must be the same that Ergee saw. It's nice to hear the munching but that cuckoo is really annoying

I would think it´s a racoon dog but I´m not sure.

Re: Alutaguse Bear webcam 2012
For me it's a dog. At night we can hear several times dogs barking in the vicinity
Re: Alutaguse Bear webcam 2012
Good evening Garina,
Yes, for me too: a dog.
The distance between the head and the back, the back not round and
the rather long legs. Not a dog with a very pointed head like p.e. a
doberman, but like a Schnauzer..see pic. Look at the left fore paw of the rd..
never see that position by the other rd's..
For the pic the dog had to stand like he does, normally he is not so
stretched...
Nice to guess what it could be... Maybe it shows up another time..

Hi Ergee! Yes, my first impression is that is that type of dog. It's too high to be a racoon dog
Re: Alutaguse Bear webcam 2012
In summer raccoon dogs are much "slimmer" (shorter hair) than in winter, especially young individuals.

Re: Alutaguse Bear webcam 2012
But what about the colour and the ears??
Not in the same position but a rather good look alike...or?
That pic of a raccoondog that seems to be a dog..I can't forget it and
today I saw a dog that was like the one on the pic.
Now I looked in my book about dogs and found the : Black Russian terrier...
that would be rather logical that in those surroundings people have Russian terriers...
And in the second video Fleur posted you can see the animal go some steps to the left and than a crow or some bird like that flies away..on all our webcams I never saw a raccoondog move like that...
It is not important, but for me it is always interesting to observe behaviour of men and animals....

The colour seems to fit to a racoon dog - especially if you consider the bad quality of the pic...
The head is too blurry for me to even see the ears...

In your video there is another animal that crosses in the back but it seems a smaller one.
Now I can only hear them

Caysa, I've just send you the video with the bear "climbing" the tree. I don't manage to put it in youtube so you can do it if you want
