This was posted on LK tonight. It answers some of our questions.

This is a carcass of the seal drowned in the fish-net. We feed the bears to keep their interest in the site of the webcam. If we get some dead game animal, we would place it outside the camera view possible disturbing sights. This time the bear dragged the carcass into the camera view.
Carcasses are the natural food of bears is spring and early summer. With feeding the bears we do not intend to change their behaviour, feed the bears to overweight or make them dependent on provided food-sources. This is quite different from bears accustomed to look for food around the human settlements and garbage dumps. Carcasses are not easy to find, if no carcasses are available, a little bit of grain or dogfood is made available in the location.

Re: Alutaguse Bear webcam
This is getting interesting!!
This man, Rein Kuresoo (his last name means Stork swamp !!!) Is a very well known nature fantast in Estonia and also here in Finland.
http://www.natourest.ee/
I guess that feeding the bears is legal in Estonia, otherwise this man would not do it....
I feel much better re the cam now, when we got this info. We knew all the time that this was the case.... but good to have it out in the open

Dog at bearcam.
Would be nice if the bear came at that spot too!
Roaming around.
Posted 2 pics in LK too. For some minutes the cam stopped and gave:
to many ...etc. But than it was back! Dog was probably not alone there.
An encounter with the bear would have been interesting, ...but not pleasant for the dog I fear.

Re: Alutaguse Bear webcam
How far is this Alutaguse territory from Rakvere or Tartu? Who knows that? Okaskera I suppose?
Is there a connection (woods or fields without villages etc. ) between
those territories?

You can read more about it here: http://www.estonica.org/en/Nature/Alutaguse/
LK member "mannike" is most probably very invoved with this: http://www.natourest.ee/ Much info there too.
But all that you probaly know already as you are active on LK forum. I so seldom have time to catch up there. But so far this is what I know.
Here you can see where the area is - it is a wast area. Estonia is about the size of The Netherlands but has a population that is only about 1/10th of yours. The animals have no problem to move around as most of Estonia (as Finland too) is woods. The bears seldom move in north - south direction. They tend to move west - to east. So rather they are passing the Russian border. They don't need passports

Most probably yes and even later the magpies were looking in the same spot where the fox was digging something out. The fox is more clever than the bears
