Please, send warm thoughts to.....
...Crista, our older daughter...
She got swine flu about 10 days ago. With high fever she went to see the doctor and got Tamiflu medication. A few days later the fever went up again so she went back to the doctor. Now she had developed a secundary infection, bronchitis. She got some sort of antibiotics - she is allergic to penicillin and also they took in consideration that she is still breast feeding Siiri.... Probably this medication was not good enough because last night she got high fever again and she was coughing really badly. So today she just had to find a doctor again which is not easy during the holidays. She was diagnosed with pretty bad pneumonia :( This doctor said that the only medication is going to be something that she must get in hospital, intravenously. But... the hospital is so full that they gave her the meds but sent her home . Now she has to go back to the hospital 3 times per day to get her medication. And.... she cannot feed Siiri during this medication. Thankfully Siiri is already 10 months old!!!
Anna and Timo was in Helsinki today and they now took both children with them. Otherwise there will be no rest for Crista. I do imagine that we are going to do some baby sitting during the next few days too.
I just pray that Crista can fight this infection.....

You have my prayers and good thoughts. It's a very scary time for all of you. Will pray that her body is tough enough to fight it off.
My love always!

Our best wishes to Christa!
Everyone's positive thoughts will surely help. And strength to you, Caysa. It's hard to see your children sick, no matter what age they are.

Thanks!
Yes, It is hard - especially when there is not much I can do, except help with the daily things.
I wish I could do the hospital trips for her - how exhausting that must be - 3 times a day.....

Today she has no fever!! She is very very tired tho, but that was expected.
Luckily now she has a nurse coming home to give the medication. Even a doctor visited today. New blood samples have been taken and when we get the results we will know more.
Crista misses the kids terrible of course - but as the dr said - she MUST rest, rest and rest. So for now the children stay at Annas house and Juha and me spend our days there. Tomorrow we will take Saga and Elis here to our house, so that I can get something done in my home too, while they have their nap.
It is exhausting for everyone but it is the only way Crista gets her rest.

Re: Please, send warm thoughts to.....
I had a long chat with her last night. The nurse came with good news
The CRP had gone down from 54 til 18 so this is very good!
Still - she has to be very careful and rest and rest and rest.
She misses the kids - I certainly understand her - but after getting reports from us, that they are eating and sleeping and pooping and peeing as normal, she feels a bit more at ease
As there now is a long weekend ahead and Tuomo will be at home she might want them to come home. But we shall see..... Monday is not that far away and Tuomo has to go back to work....
One day at a time now - I think.
I so wish she lived closer - so that I could drive back and forth....

Re: Please, send warm thoughts to.....
awwwww
We had to gather 200 plants!! And make a herbarium.
That was when I was 16 - 17 years old...
The herbarium got lost when my parents divorced and lots of things got thrown away .
I was proud of it - I knew every plant's name in Latin too....
Oh well.................C'est La Vie......

Re: Please, send warm thoughts to.....
I loved that work - we did it during the summer holidays.
Nowadays they don't do that anymore - for several reasons - most children don't have access to so many wild plants and also it can be tough on the nature in areas with many children - all plants will be gone .
But it was fun as long as it lasted
