In Austria they do it that way...
They come with a (rather small) truck and a excavator (or something similar).
Then the excavator shovels the snow on the truck. When the truck is full they drive to the closest river and dump the snow in the river. Then they drive back and they fill the truck again...

You can imagine that they hardly make any progress that way... Where is OPHIOPHAGUS??? - Page 32 784745

If 30cm of snow have fallen they get 15-20m of a road cleaned within 10 minutes... (= 1km per day) Where is OPHIOPHAGUS??? - Page 32 Lol
