I agree. The outcome would not be happy if it hatches now.

The VLC media player made an update in the end of May but it crashed when I tried to make pics. I was waiting for them to fix it but... Today I managed to install an older version

I don't think that white storks are endangered species anymore. But there a few emblematic ones that are followed. There was one very famous in Germany (I think). In Portugal they are becoming resident. Some do a small tour after raising the young ones but only one or two months. But several of the white storks that live in the coastal cliffs are ringed as they have a different behaviour

The young are going South I hope they have a good journey

Glad to see that Maru is finally headed in the right direction -- for a long while it appeared that he/she was going to spend the winter in Lithuania.

Young storks are taking their time. I really don't know what Paike is doing in Greece. He/she will not be able to cross the Mediterranean there

I just checked about the BS returning but Karu is still invisible and Eedi and Karula are still enjoying Africa and Mediterranean weather.
It's odd because the BS from Portas de Rodão are already back

we have snow still....if i remember correctly first year with cam tooni arrived 07.april? but next year 13.april?maybe this year spring is later in estonia?

When they start to return is quite quick. One week at most. What is odd is how they know that for Portugal is already possible to return but for Estonia not yet. They are very very far

just read from fb, that in south estonia have seen white storks today ...strange -few days ago we had -14 ° C in the morning, then i went to work

But sometimes when the B storks arrive there is still snow… So maybe they can handle some cold days. In POrtugal the WS are preparing their nests since 2 or 3 weeks ago. Very busy

Karl has already show up and Eedi is also travelling a lot. Karula is perhaps waiting for the others

karl is so far.....and we not have päike anymore ...hope the others will back soon

päike mean the sun and maru mean the plague (oh i hope that this year we get much sun )

So glad to see that Karl is now showing up on the map and heading home. His transmitter was quiet for a very long time.

Urmas posted on LK about Maru's transmitter that was retrieved by the veterinarian who did an autopsy on poor Maru.

"I got promise of Estonian Embassy in Cairo, that they will bring transmitter of Maru back to Estonia."  Apparently, it has to be hand carried back to Estonia rather than just mailed.

The problem is that it has to be carried by an authority. In those countries it is easy to be accused of spyiing

Yay!!!   I saw at bedtime last night that Urmas had be busy in the treetop earlier in the day, but I was just too tired to start a new topic.  I will do so after breakfast.

Karl is at the edge of the Red Sea ready to cross.
