Awwww - I didnt know what to really look for, and I was 2 minutes late too.....

It must be spring here -- this is the first robin in our yard. (Our LLL Robin is much prettier than the North American ones!)

For me spring "officially" starts on March 1st
And for me it "actually" starts when the birds are singing, when the snow is melting/has melted, when butterflies, reptiles and amphibians can be seen.
During the past days the blackbirds have started singing, the snow has melted and butterflies and reptiles can be seen. Only the amphibians are still missing. So we are just about to get spring...

That´s just the way I "feel" it (and I think it also the the meteorological way of seperating the seasons)
November, December, January, February --> winter
March, April, May --> spring
June, July, August --> summer
September, October --> autumn

but today is equinox and it mean that:
The spring equinox or vernal equinox is a day for each of 20 or the 21st March, when the entire earth day and night as long - 12 hours.

maybe it is interesting to know too:
in the spring equinox the sun is located in the equator Zenith
North pole end on the polar night and begin the polar day, the south pole end on the polar day and begin the polar night.
From the northern hemisphere spring equinox day length exceeds the length of the night, but the southern hemisphere day length exceeds the length of the night.

There is still hope In Estonia the birds are already singing (I think it was Robin who heard a blackbird lately), snow is melting (as we see on the webcams) and butterflies, amphibians and reptilies will show up very soon too. The next country to get spring will be Finland

Well, we too will probably have some snow in June - somewhere high in the mountains

we have more snow then caysa,but probably we will get more heat then suomi

But then it´s only something like 50cm, isn´t it? Does the snow melt soooo sloooowly in Finland??
Last year we had 175cm of snow and it was gone in April...

Yah, I was all warm and happy inside over it too. Unfortunately, right after I snapped that pic, Teddy (my little dog for all of you who don't know/remember) came over to investigate what I was doing, and promptly ATE said ladybug.
