OLD STUFF
I found something cool today when I was cleaning out some books. I thought that we could have a thread like this for old, cool stuff that we have. I like old things and would be happy to see what other people have.
This particular book might be of intresse for ergee
I cannot find a year in it and I have no idea why I have it.... Must have come with stuff I have inherited. It is a dictionary, Dutch - German - Dutch and it really pocket size, compare to the matchbox.

Re: OLD STUFF
Can you see a name ? The one who translated it..maybe
Prick van Wely? Yours is the 2e druk..could be round 1900.
The 5e druk came plm 1940.
Selling has no sense, value is less than € 10.- but saving those things
and have sweet memories is much better.
Prick van Wely, 1867 - 1926 did the Duitsch Woordenboek van Goor.
The letters -sch- in Duitsch and Nederlandsch and more words,
disappeared about 1945 I think.
Interesting, old or antique objects...like sandsprinklers..
From my Father, born in 1900, I still have a Verklarend Handwoordenboek der Nederlandsche Taal, 10. edition, printed in 1913!
The first edition was printed in 1897!
More than 75 words and explanations how to pronounce and meanings
of things...Fantastic and often I use it for forgotten words or objects.
And thinking of him, learning his perfect use of the Dutch language
as a young boy and not only speaking the dialect of the Province of
Drenthe...it gives me real good feelings!

Re: OLD STUFF
It doesn't say anything regarding who translated. I have looked and looked.
I think this book might have belonged to my Great aunt, Helga Dyhr. She travelled a lot. She was also born in 1900 and lived untill she was 99 years old.
