Great pictures of a beautiful countryside! The grain looks similar to wheat.

Hey, you had a nice trip, not too hot today????
The grain is barley , which you need to make the famous SAKU beer
The flower I am not sure about... maybe Valeriana?

Hello, good evening Ally,
Such a beautiful and interesting pictures you made..Thank you for showing. Must have been
very nice in the woods by bicycle..you can smell and see so many interesting things then and hear birds, the wind aso.
That caterpillar...half leaf half...dont know what..Could not find him in my big book...
Would like to see the butterfly coming out of the cocoon such a caterpillar makes...
I thought the grain is wheat...grains they put on the ground for the bear...But for me rye and wheat are difficult to distinguiseh...one has a bit longer "things" than the other..
Wild marjoram, origanum vulgare..yes think the same. The blue-yellow flowers
are nice, but no idea what they are called...
The colours in the pictures are very natural..and the clouds too!
I hope it gives you a good feeling making pictures..I really love it! Even if I made
too much...it is nice to do..as if you see much more than by "only looking" ...
young wheat
rye......

Bisky, good evening to you too!
I love the Cooper in the water pics so much! So nice to see that those
2 friends can be together also very quiet, lying in the cool water without splashing and playing...So calm and enjoying!
Is there a bath for you too? Nice those garlic plants...did they have
those cicades in their garden too? If yes it does not help against
those beetles...
Have a nice Sunday, for you some degrees cooler! Here it could be a bit warmer, about 20 and showers too...not enough for real summerweather! But we still can wait a bit.

Barley is easy to recognize - it is the only grain with that long "hair"AllyKass wrote:and for me this grain seemed like rye

I think barley is the most grown grain in our countries, it grows well and there is always a good market for it.
Marjoram - yes, that it can well be marjoram - did you smell it??

Yes, yes, yes, the cicadas were in everyone's yard. It is sooooo nice to have them gone. They have left an ugly reminder of their visit on many of the trees -- the dead tips of the branches are where they left their larvae before the adults finally died.
Now we can hear the usual yearly locusts that have a much lower, quieter song telling us that summer will be over before long. There is only a small number of them, and they are actually quite pleasant to listen to in the evening and they do not leave tree damage.
I wish we had a pool in the yard that could cool off more than just the two dogs!ergee wrote:

Although I am lucky enough to have a swimming pool about 15 minutes away that is built on a small hill overlooking a lake. I go to a water aerobics class at 8:00 a.m. three mornings a week during June, July, and August -- that is one exercise class that I don't hate going to!

Re: ALLY'S DEN
I agree that it is barley
The caterpillar is Cerura vinula or a similar species (I´m too tired to look that up now). They are quite rare - lucky you, Ally!!

Re: ALLY'S DEN
Ally, hello good morning!
Did Baruto tell you how glad he is to be outside and no longer in the small wooden room? It was a good "home" for Darla and him, when he was born and the first months, safe, clean and quiet and enough to eat and drink.
He really is adorable..those eyes!
The outside place seems to be rather extensive...no freedom is possible for them, but I think this Zoo is acceptable...especially as these leopards know nothing else.
But still it hurts a bit to see animals in captivity!
Don't attack me, please..I'm not sentimental!
Nice pictures Ally, thank you for visiting them and showing us! Takes a lot of your time but I think you really enjoy it! Keep on going...
