SURPRISE !!!!
Look what we found yesterday morning!!!
3 weeks ago this hen started to get broody so we gave her some eggs.
Well, then she was broody and not broody and broody again. On and off for more than a week.
I thought that the eggs are for sure no good anymore . They got cold several times.
When she finally settled for good I decided to let her have 4 new eggs too, they would probably hatch better.
The new eggs are 10 days " younger" ....
But.... now we have 4 chicks, from the first lot of eggs HELP!!!
She will not stay on the rest of the eggs long enough now to incubate the new lot too.....
I ended up ordering a tiny incubator that I should recieve tomorrow hopefully - lets see what happens....

What a nice things happen there and this hen looks so attentive
at her little one! The other little one seems really interested in everything around her, how old is she now?? It must be great to
grow up in those, her safe world, with so much to see and to do and
to explore, sometimes together with her beloved grandparents!

Saga is going to be 4 in august, as will Elis, they have only a few weeks age difference.
And yes, Saga is a happy little girl, living in the countryside. Her mother, Anna, wanted her kids to grow up like this, with nature and animals and grandparents nearby . She was lucky to find a husband that had the same ideals.

The 4 "younger" eggs are now in the new incubator!!!! I must count days now but I think they should hatch maybe Sunday or Monday! (If they are fertile, that is....)
I was thinking.... maybe I should set up the webcam?? If we are lucky you might be able to see chicks hatch

Re: SURPRISE !!!!
Today I let the chicks outside in the chick cage - with mamma hen of course.
The bigger chicks could well have been outside for a week now but I had to wait for the younger ones to get some feathering too. Even now They will spend the night in the coop.
