I am envious of your moonlight! I wanted to see the lunar eclipse tonight here that starts at 1:40 a.m., but we have a heavy cloud cover and expect rain/ice all night. (It is best viewed in North and South America.) It is especially unusual because of its occurrence during the longest day of the year, winter solstice. That has not happened since 1554; and the next time is 2466 -- I'm pretty sure that I'll miss that one, too! whistle

Scroll down a bit (to the second picture) and click on it. This one works directly on that page. (you can also make it full screen if you want to)

On LK I read that there was a Golden Eagle on the feeding ground (and a Mallard on boar cam 2 Shocked

). So I checked my screenshots - and actually found the Golden Eagle which I had thought to be a White-tailed Eagle so far, as I didn´t expect Golden Eagles to visit

Well, the white tail with its dark outer part (visible in the 2nd pic) and the white colour in the wings (visible in pics on LK) are typical for young Golden Eagles. I didn´t notice that because I didn´t expect any other eagles than WTE there.

Clear patch is too on the wing of the young WTE. The end of the feet bare, what is typical of the WTE. But it is not possible to establish it certainly. nod

The do have some white feathers, yes - but I don´t think that young WTE have the triangle-shaped white area that is typical for young Golden Eagles...
