Midsummer in Estonia...
I am afraid we will not see much of our Estonian friends today and tomorrow...

in midsummer eve you have to jump over the fire to clear away the old things and look for fern flower and find night lighters:

Here all maidens (unmarried women) should pick 7 different flowers late in the evening. This should be done in silence! Then put the flowers under your pillow and in your dreams you will see the man you are going to marry.
We also have bonfires, the meaning is pretty much the same - to clear away all bad things.
I had to look up that "jumping over the fire" thing!
GOSH - will there not be quite a few accidents....???

Most of those celebrations we do it also in Portugal but not specially on Midsummer. There are some folk saints that are the saints of the main towns and they are celebrated by everybody: St Antonio in Lisbon, St John in Oporto and St Peter in other towns. When I was younger in the villages they did also fires that we had to jump but they do it less and less...

In the North of Portugal there are also this skirts and dresses. They say they come from Austria

Many people believe it, that baddest one, when you forget to pull the zipper up already on the trousers. I can't believe it. That baddest one, when you forget to pull it down!!!!!

Yeah.... THAT is really bad....
But now it is summer... do as Saga does when she is running around outside: She takes off her little under pants and says that this way it is so easy to pee quickly
