I´m pretty sure that this actually is a stag that has already shed his antlers...
That white spot between the eye and the ear looks like the "connection" between the antlers and the skull. In addition the neck looks rather wide and hairy, which is typical for stags.
Might be Mr. Magnificent even...

But when this one left, another one with antlers arrived. So there were 2 with antlers plus this one. And it seems to be missing something to be a male? Of course it maybe more of them. We will see later on
Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
You are right, Garina. It´s a female - but a weird-looking one!
I found a video on LK. When the deer can be seen from behind, it´s obvious that there are no testicals...
But on this video we can also see that there are 2 young stags - a 6-pointer and an 8(or 10?)-pointer.

It must be a very old one?Ricky wrote:You are right, Garina. It´s a female - but a weird-looking one!
Yes, I saw them, one at the begining (on one of the pics I posted) and one that came whe she was leaving, that could be the younger one that we saw on last daysRicky wrote:But on this video we can also see that there are 2 young stags - a 6-pointer and an 8(or 10?)-pointer.

And a bit spooky when an owl is calling around midnight...
mysterious, a deer is chewing while
again and again you can hear the owl's voice!
But which one: Uhu, Bubo bubo or another species?

Another "she" is here. Or the same? But she stays behind the hay...
And I must go
I don't know what happened with the pics I'll try to post them again tomorrow...

I do not think that the deer visited yesterday or today (Thursday and Friday).

It looks like...
The "bald" red deer is there
What is strange in this is that there were 3 red deers: one without antlers, Mr. Magnificent and the young male. But now we only see one without antlers

I was thinking... maybe the light is unsufficient to see such details??
After all that deer looks absolutely like a stag - the overall impression... Somehow it´s hard for me to imagine that a female can actually look like this...

Re: Red Deer Cam (Saarema Island)
I agree with you Ricky. One of these days I payed a lot of attention on the "no antlers" to try to see if it was a male and I couldn't reach a conclusion because of the light.
I tried to compare the bodies but sometimes it looks like Mr. Magnificent but sometimes it seems to have more "furr" in the neck.
But maybe there are 2 like that: do you remember that when Mr. Magnificent was still with antlers that there was another one who stayed in the back with no antlers? That we thought it could be a female?
So I think that maybe there are 2 that already lost their antlers plus the young male.

The one in the back must be another "bald" male. So it must be 2 of them coming here
