I took the pic from behind the curtain at the door window - hubby is out there on the veranda at 6 am this morning - doing the manly thing - trying to get the bastard. He didn't succeed, of course the rat wouldn't show itself
I can imagine your husband´s feeling in the hunt-less time. I also have to wait more than 4 weeks.
No. Roe Buck or Wild Boar or Red Deer actually (if I am lucky).

In that area where I am going to be badger hunting is only allowed in October.
Ophi, you seem to know quite a lot also about hunting - are you a hunter?

Re: HELP, WE HAVE A RAT!!!!
How the rat hunting goes, any signs of it? Or he steels your food already?
Re: HELP, WE HAVE A RAT!!!!
No hunting during the week..... Hubby leaves so early to his job, poor man. Only time I have seen it was in the morning. After that is stays away.
Now tho - My son-in-law says he thinks it isn't a rat but a water vole (Arvicola terrestris). So lets hope that!

Hehehehehe, what do you think dog puppies do??? Alli (the younger labrador) ate TREES last summer.... And the chicken eat berries from my bushes. And little Ansa has now also started "gardening", she digs everywhere where it is possible!!
So, welcome water voles, no one will even know you have been here

Re: HELP, WE HAVE A RAT!!!!
I write it down once more: No. I do not go to hunt after 4 weeks.
I know it so, that the domestic badger substance all right. I am not up-to-date in the topic, I read a study in 2004 according to my memories, from the protection of the hare. In this study was mentioned, the badger population it the sudden elevation. Why we would need a badger from Germany? I was not worth it.
