Some of them seem to have mange or other fur problem

In Portugal, specially in the south (Alentejo) inland it's quite common to see meteor showers (lots of shooting stars) and also fireballs.
Sometimes we go there to see the Perseids in August but this year it was full moon.
Once it was funny because I was in the North and saw a fireball and one of my nieces called me because she had seen one (we think it was the same).
So, I don't know how many I saw, fireballs maybe 4 or 5, shooting stars more than one hundred
