Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
you need to do good teamwork thencaysa wrote:They have 4 dogs, Lyra, Vega, Lansu and Siru...
At home they now have 2 Finnhorses, Poju and Taika and the pregnant Shetland pony, Tilly. Anna also owns a young Finnhorse stallion, Aatu, together with a friend, but it is now in the friend's stable.
2 Finnsheep yes and 2 cats.
They take care of the animals themselves and with our help. They cannot go away for a weekend if we don't take care of the animals.
Well, same goes for us - if we want to go somewhere then we need their help.

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
Poor birds, so much work to do...thinking that a stranger has been in their territory...
It will try to remove all that stuff...the tit might think a rival will
take this nest...When he came in, saw he shaves, and was scratching and fluttering, it seemed clear that he was not happy!
Picking the entrance they almost always do, but really change it
I've never seen.
In my former garden I also had nestboxes and controlled what happened, here on the balcony it is the same. They put out what
was left from last year, as there is nobody to help me, I had to leave it
in the box.
And now there must be eggs, one is brooding, the other often comes
and looks into the nest. Sometimes they leave both for a short time.
I won't give any advice, but it might be not bad to throw out almost
all the shaves, only leave some of it ..so that they can remove that
easier if they want so. If the shaves are put on the ground they could
take them by themselves if they want them...
I wish you lots of succes!! And them too!

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
I know for sure that ones Juha has put the shavings in, he is not going to remove them
He is trusting the man who has been doing this for years. And I am not going to get on a ladder and take down the bitdhouse....
So we have to go with what we have, I guess.
Has anyone seen the bird there now, during the afternoon hours??

I was feeding the dogs and I missed it!!!
But that sounds good, maybe they just want to make a bit of own arrangement there - you know, when you get a new home you have to make it "your own"

OMG - the bluetit is sleeping
It "made its bed" for quite some time and at 7.20 it tucked its head under the wing and became a fur ball...

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
If you see both birds in daylight you will probably be able to compare them and tell who is the male and who is the female - males usually are a bit more colourful, especially the blue on the head is brighther and more intensive.

Re: CAYSA's BIRDHOUSE CAM
Yes, I do see them, they sit on the branches of "their birch" or on the the cam cable. But they are not close enough to compare the heads. I have been trying to see them at the same time by the feeder but that I havent been lucky yet. And I guess we will find outif they start nesting....

Yes, the woodpeckers come many times per day and a lot of tits. So many bluetits too, hard to say who is who...AllyKass wrote:are there the others birs eating,tooo.........or there are only they??
It has been raining all day long, for a while it was even snowing. The dripping sounds you can hear are probably bigger water drops falling from the tree branches.
