Saga's dollhouse
This is what Anna and I (with a little help from Timo to build the sauna part) made for Saga for Christmas.
I had this old cupboard (about 1 meter high) with a glass door and it came to my mind that it would be perfect for a dollhouse to hand on the wall. And the door keeps Aarni away.......

What a wonderful house! How long did it take to build and furnish, and how did you keep it secret from Saga? That is a large present to conceal!

Re: Saga's dollhouse
As tha cupboard was old it actually stood up against the wall - facing it - already a few days before we started working on it. Saga wasnt interested in it at all ! We worked on it for maybe 3 days while Saga was in kindergarten. It wasn't that difficult really - we found a little shops that had all sorts of fun things. Some we made ourselves and some are bought. The wallpapering was the most difficult part - to find a glue that wouldnt destroy the paper but that still would stick to the old paint inside the cupboard.Bisky wrote:What a wonderful house! On christmas eve, while Saga was napping we placed it by the tree and wrapped it right where it stood

For a long time she did not say anything - she just looked at it....
Then finally: Is THIS really for ME?????? Is this MINE??? Can I play with it???
It was so worth all the effort

Oh Caysa! You did a great job on that! What a wonderful way to recycle an old cupboard. I can only imagine how pleased Saga was to get that. You are really the bestest Grandma ever.

Re: Saga's dollhouse
It's so! so! beautiful!
I want one for me
It remembers me when I was little, my mother and grandmother made a whole set of clothes (for day, for night, for summer, for winter) to a baby doll (and the same for my sister), and a carrycot and all the linen... I will never forget that and I was maybe 7 or 8 years old
I'm sure Saga will allways be delighted with that
