Saga's first train trip
This morning we decided to take Saga on her first train trip
Just a short ½ hour drive from Salo to Turku and back again.
The train was a Pendolino train that is quite fast even on the Finnish tracks (link for Ophy and anyone who is interested:PENDOLINO ).
It was quite cool to wait for the train - here it comes!!!
On board everything was interesting and OOOO how fast it moved too!!
The conductor came and Saga got her own ticket
And there was a cafe' cart too, we had coffee and Saga had a little bun
Then we arrived in Turku where we had an hour before the train went back.
Of course we had to buy icecream and eat it in the park!

Re: Saga's first train trip
And we had to get proof for mom and dad - Saga in Turku!!
The railway station had this train too!
Time to enter the train back - Saga wanted to press the green button...
and the door opened and the steps came down
The train was almost empty so Saga could explore.
And then we are back in Salo - Saga said "thank you, bye bye!!" to the conductor (who actually was quite bored with his job )

It looks like it was great fun -- and beautiful warm weather. I am glad you all got back before the rain storms hit!

The first dark clouds and the first sound of thunder could be heard during the last 10 minutes before we got home....
But no rain yet. I was most worried about my puter, it was not unplugged
But thankfully nothing had happend. (when you ONCE have a lightning-damaged puter you do not want that again )

Thanks, you made me smile
I hope that we are good for her as her other grandparents are not able to take care of her on their own, they are a bit older than we are. And as we live so close poor Saga has no choice, she has to come here when her parents have something else going on
Elis and Siiri have Tuomos parents quite close, they can easily come on short notice. But for longer stays the children will come here.

I do also believe that that small things give a lot of joy. You can find a lot of interesting things very close. The day will come when the child is not so little anymore and the demands will be different

Allykass has it right, you are cool grandparents and it is very good for kids to get to explore the workings of the world while they are young and impressionable. All 3 1/2 of them are very lucky to have you for a grandma and grandpa!
Re: Saga's first train trip
Awww thanks - but we are at least as happy as having these kids as our grankids!! They mean the world to us!!

It's easy to see that.
Note to self: When I come back in my next life, come back as Caysa's grand-daughter.
