Tomorrow I will not be on much....

It is Juha's 60th birthday and we are going to stay away from the house.
At some point we actually planned to go abroad to some European city for a few days but we decided not to spend the little money we have on that. TG - we would not have got there anyway!!
So, we are going to spend the day with Anna and Timo and Saga FAR away from here, 18 km / 20 minutes
We are going to have breakfast outside at Timo's favorite . We will grill sausages and eat sandwiches and drink coffee . If the weather is ok we will stay outside until it is time for Saga's nap. In the afternoon we are going to Salo where we have pizza or pasta at a very nice Italian restaurant.
When we come back to Anna's and Timo's house we will make coffee and take out the cake, that I have baked today. Then we are going to get surprise guests, Juha does not know . Some of his hunting friends will turn up . I hope he thinks it is ok - he really does not want any fuzz around this occation. (I have "champagne" in the the fridge at Anna's house too...)

Crista's family will celebrate Juha at some later point, Crista is in the middle of some exams, she is working day and night.


We have got a present for Juha too - don't tell him!!!

This is what he gets - a new stove for his sauna (the one on the left). We got it yesterday and it is now in the back of Anna's and Timo's car. Timo will lift it out in the yard and cover it with a sheet and a red ribbon
A new stove has to be heated outside one time, to burn off all grease and such. This will be Juha's job while Saga is sleeping.

I ran almost already into the shop, that i refil the larder and the liquor cabinet!!

Not really, they have been mating at least since the other day. And they arrived almost exactly the same time as last year, April 14th, and and the first egg was layed the 21st, that is TODAY

First of all: Juha says THANK YOU!!! He was overwhelmed by all the greetings he got on here

At 8 am we left fron home and when we came to Anna's house Juhas present was waiting for him, nicely covered in a white sheet and with a red ribbon.
Timo had already filled it with wood and only handed Juha the matches to start the fire



It burned fine with not as smuch smoke as we thought - after this it is ready to install in the sauna.

After this we took our picnic breakfast and got into Timo's big car (the famous German imported Caravelle) and drove some 13 kms to a lake called Patamo.





This area is beautiful - many small lakes and no houses! Just tiny forest roads that criss cross between the lakes.

A tiny road goes down to the lake. There we left the car and walked through the forest - using game paths - until we came to the spot that Timo had chosen. There we grilled sausages, ate sandwiches and had coffee.
The weather was really beautiful, sunny and crisp (around +5C). We just enjoyed beeing outside. We did not SEE much wilglife, I guess we were too noisy, but we heard a moose take off maybe 10 meters from where we left the car.
I will post pics from the picnic trip in "our worlds".

Just before noon we head back to the house because it is time for Saga to have her nap.
Juha and Timo take a trip to our house to carry the new stove in and the old one out.

By the door Juha finds these flowers, that our friends in Sweden had sent:



In the mail box he finds several congratulation telegrams

After Saga woke up we started to get ready to go to Salo, about 45 minutes away to have an informal meal at the Antonio restaurant


Time flew, so we actually had to hurry back to the house as we had agreed for the secret guests to arrive around 6 pm.

For not wanting much fanfare, he sure had a splendid day!

We started with "champagne" and went on to coffee and birthday cake.
Unfortunately the only pic I took of the guests was spoiled, the flash did not work.... , or was not on.....

I think this amount of "fuzz" was exactly right, nothing too glamorous at all but still he could feel that people cared!
