Sorry, no video! The real player takes to much time to start, when it did action was finished!
I read in LK that yesterday afternoon she was already there
Re: Estonian Wild Pig Cam 2010
This deer seems to have "found" this place. I wonder how old she is? Is she expecting her first baby? Is that why she is alone?

She seemed quite calm yesterday night. Attentive to noises, sometimes made a tour but everything very quiet

She is not old for sure. It´s rather hard to tell the exact age of female Roe deer (especially when they show up alone so that you cannot compare them with other deer) but I would guess her to be something like 3 years old.

For sure she is expecting a baby (it will be born in May, maybe in the very beginning of June). If she is 2 years old (well 1 year and 10 months ) it is her first first baby. Otherwise most probably not.

I don´t think so.
Roe deer that live inside forests often live on their own. Deer in open areas live is groups - especially in winter.
We can see that on "my" deer feeder... There is a doe+fawn, a single doe, a single buck and probably some more deer. Usually they come alone, sometimes all of them come (as they did last time).

They must be already thinking in closing the cam
Shall we see little piglets in pijamas? This mother is still here, how much time after disapearing will her appear again? One month?
And those "kids" will be alone during that time?

Did the write something on LK??

I think the mother herself will appear just a few days after having given birth to the piglets. But it will last 1-2 weeks until the piglets follow her...
garina do mar wrote:And those "kids" will be alone during that time?
For a few weeks all of them will have to manange without their mothers which is not a real problem for them.
Especially males will be alone from that time on anyway. Female one-year-olds usually stay in the group but male one-year-olds often are on their own or with some "friends" of the same age.

Until now, no and I don't dare to ask! Do you remember what happened last season?
The young pigs that live near by are most of the time (if not always) alone. But these 5 are always following their mother . And also the other 2 from the small family but their mother doesn't seem to be pregnantRicky wrote:garina do mar wrote:Shall we see little piglets in pijamas? I don´t really remember. I only know that they were playing some tricks (lights off a.s.o.) to the very end of the season... And I think there was an interview planned that was postponed again and again and did not take place in the end...
Somehow everything lasted long enough to see the stripies I hope it will be the same this year...

It was that! Lights off, we never knew why and lots of "wise explanations" about lights off

Hopefully. The trouble is that we cannot hear its footsteps crunching in the snow like the pigs and deer to alert us.
