American Bald Eagle - Norfolk Botanical Gardens (Virginia)
Well gang, I almost hate to post another webcam; but, the female just laid her first egg of the season this afternoon, so some of you might be interested in watching from time to time:
http://www.wvec.com/marketplace/microsite-content/eagle-cam.html
I have been watching this cam for several years now, and the pair usually raises 3 eaglets each year. The nest is located in the Botanical Gardens at Norfolk, Virginia, on our east coast (the time difference is 7 hours earlier than Estonian time). The camera has someone operating it 24 hours so it moves around or zooms in when there is something special to see. It has no sound, and the night vision could be better -- but it is wonderful during daylight hours.
Here is her first egg laid at 2:15 Sunday afternoon (about a half hour ago)

Unfortunately, there was a heavy snow storm yesterday in the area (quite unusual) so it will be a challenge for her to keep it warm. Here is a video taken shortly after the egg was laid:

[/url]
I hope you all enjoy following them as much as I do

The wildlife specialists post a blog with further information about the eagles:
http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/eaglecam/
Along the right a little way down the page you can read any previous posts from this year and also there are archives of all the previous years. (If you do not have anything else to do for the next couple of days
)

I think I know this cam
Isn't it the cam where 2 years ago they had to make a chirurgy to the chick?

This is the one
It had a growth on it's beak that turned out to be avian pox. That eagle is still in captivity at the animal hospital where it was taken. Surgery was performed, but the growth had caused the beak to form incorrectly. It cannot be released because it's beak has to be reshaped every few months so he can tear and eat his food.http://www.wildlifecenter.org/wp/non-releasable-cover/

Mom and Dad together. He is still bringing sticks to fortify the nest and she is sitting on the egg. She is on the left, Dad on the right. He is a little smaller -- she has poofier head feathers

It is a windy, snowy night on the nest for a snow covered mom and her two eggs. Near the end of the video, the wind changes directions and snow starts to cover the camera! (Snow is very unusual in this part of the country.)

Oh boy..... I hope that mom stays put on the eggs!!! The eggs can take a lot, but wet snow would for sure not be very good

At least it looks like Mom made it through the night. The temperature is now 3 -- I expected to see snow on the nest, but it must have melted as it landed. There is still moisture on the camera lens.

That Mom is one tough bird -- she laid her third egg around 11:30 as the rain was starting to turn to snow. The third egg is to the left partially covered by her white feathers.

(I was too lazy to upload a pic on imageshack and so I tried to press the printscreen button and then paste the pic here. But that didn´t work (no idea why) and actually there shouldn´t be a pic now....)

Computer really are great - they put 3 boxes with red squares, green rings and blue triagnles when trying to paste one pic
About the other pics - maybe your internet is rather slow? The pics are .bmp pics, so there is more data to load which lasts longer. But they are loaded on imageshack, so they should load just normally - only a bit slower.....

I believe you that those things are there.
I never questioned that...But I have no idea why the computer does such things...
