I am sitting here, thinking.....
How did you get to know about PIG CAM??
I have never heard any stories about that. I would like to know how it happend
I remember that we were visiting Anna and Timo and Saga.... it was new years eve 2008, last day of the year. Timo was reading a hunting magazine and then he said that someone is writing about a live camera in Estonia, showing wild boars. There was not much more info but the next day I searched dear and found both cam and Looduskalender. I remember that I immediately registered .
That's how it started and it did not take long before I was completely addicted .
It is funny how fast things developed - I have even been to Ilmatsalu TWICE to see the place. Not to mention that I have got so many new cool friends .
What is your story???

Re: I am sitting here, thinking.....
It was year 2007 when I heard about Looduskalender somewhere, probably in radio or tv, they talked about Black Stork camera there. As a reader of Looduskalender I got to know everything whats going on and whats going to be there. And also the pig cam. And when the forum was opened, At first I read everything as the guest and then decided to join. It was so cool to see the feeding place with your own eyes I got also great friends there
Re: I am sitting here, thinking.....

I found this article, its in estonian.
Its written in 2005 year but it says that Looduskalender started several years ago already. But in 2005 spring it started with new design and with more people.

In March 2008 I accidently read about the pig cam in a German hunting forum. I only had the link to the cam itself, not to LK. About a month later the season ended. Since I had no info if or when the cam would start again I checked it from time to time.
In December 2008 I saw in another hunting forum a topic called "Estonian Wild Boars". There I read that the new season had started a few days ago. There also the link to LK was.
After some days of reading the forum I registered.

Re: I am sitting here, thinking.....
I registered to Kalale.ee forum yer 2007. There was discussion off wild pig camera at Estonia. Knowledge of that get I from Finnish forum named Pönttökamera foorumi . So my pigcam watching began then.
Next winter I had a look regularly when that cam shall open again.
And immediately when I noted it was under way and then when English language forum opened, registered I there.

I miss that cam again but it takes some months still when we can see it again

We can always mix something from the cam with off topic things.
Like:
"The boars are still there." And then a long off topic story follows
caysa wrote:We might get .
Doesn´t matter We would still have LLL.
It would be funny and ridiculous if a forum would ban 6 of the 10 most active members. But actually I would not wonder much if LK would do that...

Why that? I cannot remember...

My membership's authentic story Part I.
I read a blog in February. There was, that is a camera in the
woods, and there can be seen magpies and buzzards. Buzzards? That's
the great thing! I watched the buzzards, and listening to ravens.
In the evening I wanted to show my wife this, and there were wild boars!
And I wondered, where can this be? I first thought of Ukraine.
A fast search on the net, and I found out, that the camera is in Estonia.
I admit I did not know lot about this country (but I obtained much knowledge
since then ). I started reading the forum. I loved it.
From the "pro members"(I do not want to list the names, somebody is left out maybe! )
remarks I found much new information. I decided it, that i too register.
I sent the registration, and I waited for the feedback. But I received
nothing. It did not succeed. I read only through a month.
The Thing came on March 10. I was me being indignant. I tried to
register it again.

Re: I am sitting here, thinking.....
I remember, that around that time (March), the admins on LK were having trouble! They had hundreds of spam members trying to get in!! So they just had to stop the registration or something. When I wanted Anna and Deb to join I had to write an email to JO, telling her that these were REAL people and not spam.
I am glad that you didn't give up, Ophy!!!

My membership's authentic story Part II.
The second experiment succeeded.
But I had a problem. On the forum one a team got accustomed was. They were the TOP 10, the top-members, they were the "big guns". Who will notice me from among them? I was the
beginner only, the little new member.
I wrote it with a trembling hand:- Hello! I am the new one.......
I sent the message, wiped the sweat from my brow, and I was waiting.
I knew nobody will answer, but I was waiting because of that.
Juta welcomed shortly, she did not have other occupation. Nothing
happened next... passed one hour....... two clocks passed......
I knew that nobody will be willing to speak to me. I wanted to log out.
I noticed it then, I have a message! 2 message! 2 PM! They after all
noticed! Oh no! PM was from Juta and Jo. My picture was animated, I had to exchange it. I was a
member yet since only two clocks, and I ruined something already. I was
the beginner only, the very little-little new member.
I looked at the topic again, and I did not take it for my eye!
Noticed, they answered for me! Leanne welcomed, Ergee wrote next yet, and Ricky...
There was a beautiful day!

My membership's authentic story Part III.
I discovered the rest of the cameras. I adored the winter eagle camera.
I like the sound of the ravens (Is this a some kind of perversion
possibly? ).
The bird feeder liked too, but the pigeons cleaned it out in the
morning already only. A bird was frequent there the "zsezse"(hun). I did
not know it, and I was not able to identify it by the English name.
I was a member since 4 days already then (Quasi veteran!). I plucked up
all of my courage, and I asked it: -Somebody knows this birds Latin name?
Vaino (I read his messages enquiring always) an early afternoon answered,
that in this question Robin the expert.
ROBIN???! She is in the TOP 10! She will not answer my idiotic question
certainly! I will never find it out, what's your name for these birds!
The afternoon, and the evening passed.
I was surprised very much in the morning following day. The answer was
there my question. From ROBIN (She is in the TOP 10!)!
It was a mood sign on the end of a message, on its face a disdaining smile: Do you not
know even this?
But I learned it already now: "Redpoll is in latin Carduelis flammea"
