Hello from Oulu

Post by AK on Sun Aug 09, 2009 9:54 am

Laughing
Hi from sunny Oulu.
I'm 45 years old and single. I'm still looking for Mr Right One...
I'm Caysa's friend since many, many years and we've visited Estonia many times.
Caysa gave me a hint of pigcam and that's how I got into this

Ok; no further than South-Africa then =(

But Caysa was right; Italy is my favorite at the moment. The nature and climate are so nice over there, do you agree?

Estonia's location is quite nice too, isn't it? Who wants to come to Oulu? Pls raise your hands...

Hi Robin
Thank you Smile
Yes, Joulupukki lives next to me; I have no secrets! How could I?

I suppose the best thing is to start from south-Finland first and then go more to south (finally to Italy). Or?

Do you live in Tallinn? How is life over there nowadays?

Yes I live in Tallinn, its crazy city, lots of people and noisy, I prefer something quieter and greener place. If your dream is to move to Italy then it should be come true sunny

I don´t think that would be a good idea.

I live not far from the Italian border and I´m not fond of the Italians at all. Most of them are quite nasty guys.
When they are hiking or cycling they can´t talk with normal voice. They speak so loud that you still hear them in a distance of 500 – 1000 metres (no joke). It´s a horror – as soon an Italian is in the neighborhood the silence of the mountains is gone.
In Italy they throw their rubbish away everywhere. Behind every corner you find “private” (or you could also say: illegal) waste dumps. On both sides of roads plastic bottles, paper aso is lying around (this goes for the middle and south part especially).
Their way of driving is very dangerous. If you drive as fast as it is allowed they overtake you (even when overtaking is forbidden) and often almost crash into cars that are coming from the other direction. It has happened to me quite several times that I had to brake sharply in order not to let the two cars crash into each other.
When an Italian wants to know something he/she almost always asks in Italian language. Since I don´t know this language I ask “Can you speak English?” Answer: “No, eh…” and than continues in Italian!
I could continue that way but with one word: Many Italians are simply heedless. Fortunately there are some exceptions. And the country itself is nice too (apart of all that rubbish). There are beautiful nature parts. No doubt.
I often go to Italy for daytrips. But I truly would not want to live there.

Hello AK, welcome out of the Netherlands, if you want to try Italy,
start in the North, the mountains in the Dolomites are beautiful and out of the tourist season not overcrowded.
Meran is a splendid city, not to big and the weather good, a little
like a subtropical area. Vineyards, apples, pears, grapes..palms in the parks in Meran. You can see a lot of Meran on internet.
www.meran.eu
www.trauttmansdorff.it (Botanic garden).
Ricky is maybe a little bit to strict about the mentality of the Italians in the north of Italy;
like in other countries there are good and bad and unfriendly and
friendly people. And eating and drinking is very delicious and total different from the meals we get in our own countries...
Italy - south is more like Ricky's description, but South Tyrol (Dolomites) I like very much! Make a holiday trip to Meran with Caysa... both of you will enjoy it!
Hope you will enjoy LLL too and in winter the LK wild boar cam! sunny

@ Ergee: Sorry I didn´t express that well: With "Italy" I meant the part of Italy where Italian is the most common language. In south Tyrol I don´t feel like being in Italy since almost everybody speaks German. Embarassed And most of the people "behave normally" there. Laughing Wink

Hello Ricky, no problem at all, I understand you very well:
before 1918 South Tyrol belonged to Austria, even now most of the people are speaking German and many of them know about Andreas Hofer (Tyrolian resistance hero) and the different wars against Napoleon and the French and also Bavarian soldiers.
Since 1918 South Tyrol belongs to Italy but there are many Austrian influences noticeable, maybe especially that makes it for us easier to understand the people and let us feel good there and enjoy this beautiful mountainous northern part of Italy? Smile

It i'm not sure, that the superfine pizza is being made in Italy. You need to move onto Hungary! You may enjoy the warmth in summer. One or two snowy days reduce your homesickness though in winter! santa
